Winter Storm Watch: Snow headed for Puget Sound

SEATTLE — Thursday is just fine — cold, with highs in the upper 30s.  We’ll see sun until clouds start to move in from the north.  But Thursday night, as precipitation starts, it’ll be cold enough for snow.  After midnight, we start to get snow flurries.  Then between 5 and 9 a.m.Friday, snow becomes steady and sticks.  We could get 1 to 5 inches from Tacoma northward, with more to the north and at upper elevations.  There will be school delays and cancellations, and the morning commute will be lousy.  Then, after 9 a.m., it changes to rain and snow washes away, except for the mountains.  Our weekend looks fairly mild, highs near 50, with a few showers.  Chance of showers continues into Monday.  Tuesday & Wednesday it looks dry, mid 40s — that’s Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
