Xbox One sales top 2 million worldwide

REDMOND -- Microsoft's next-generation gaming system is apparently flying off the shelves just as fast as Microsoft can make them.

More than 2 million Xbox One consoles have been sold worldwide since its Nov. 22 launch, according to Microsoft.

The software giant is selling Xbox One  in 13 nations globally and is averaging 111,111 units sold per day.

Hitting the 2 million sales mark evens up the console sales wars between the Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4. Microsoft crossed the 2 million sales mark in 18 days. On Dec. 3, Sony announced 2.1 million units of the PlayStation 4 were sold between the system's Nov. 15 launch and Dec. 1.

Xbox One has a retail price of $499 and PlayStation 4 retails at $399 in the U.S.
