Worst times to travel this Thanksgiving

traffic296x122KIRKLAND – The days leading up to Thanksgiving are the unofficial kick off to holiday and shopping traffic. Local traffic solution company Inrix has listed some of the times you want to stay off the roads.

The season is already stressful enough,” Jamie Holter, INRIX Traffic Analyst said. “A little knowledge and a little pre-planning can help drivers get the most out of their holiday season. No one likes to be late to parties or dinner because they are stuck in traffic.”

If you plan to leave work early Wednesday, traffic out of Seattle will be at an all-time high between noon and 7 p.m. Also, travelers headed to Sea-Tac on Wednesday can expect the trip to take three times longer than normal, especially if people go between 2-5 p.m.

If folks are sticking around for the holidays, watch out for Bellevue Square. On Black Friday, prepare for an extra 15-30 minutes to get in and out of the heart of Bellevue.
