LAKEWOOD — A burglar dragged an 86-year-old woman from her bed and demanded she open her purse Saturday night during a burglary, the Tacoma News Tribune reported.
According to the News Tribune, the woman was woken around 11:15 p.m. in her home in the 10500 block of Douglas Street Southwest when she heard a man kick in her door. The man dragged her down the hallway and into her kitchen, where he demanded she give him her purse and wallet. The victim handed over her valuables and the man fled.
Police were called to the scene and arrested a man nearby who had an outstanding warrant. However, it is unknown if the man broke into the woman’s house, and police are investigating the case. The victim was unable to identify the man as the attacker, the News Tribune reported.
Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call 911.
