Woman who fell off cliff identified as 59-year-old resident

PORT ANGELES -- Jefferson County investigators on Monday identified the woman who fell 200 feet to her death off a closed beach bluff last week near Port Townsend as Kristine Kay Dishong, 59, who lived close to where the incident occurred, the Peninsula Daily News reported.
The death was accidental and no autopsy is planned, the Daily News said, citing police.

The woman fell down the bluff sometime last week. Her body was found by a passer-by Saturday.

Investigators say there was no evidence of foul play in the woman's death. They are unsure what she was doing at the bluff.

The bluff, known as "The End of the World," suffered a major slide in October and has been closed since then. The Daily News reported that the woman climbed under a closed sign and walked through 60 feet of underbrush to make her way to the edge of the unstable bluff.
