VIDEO: Alaskan fishermen rescue whale

SEATTLE -- Some Good Samaritan Alaskan fishermen spent more than four hours rescuing a whale that was stranded.

On their YouTube page they posted that they came upon the whale as she was "thrashing around in an attempt to get off the rock" -- it appeared the whale had been trying to get a seal. But after a while, the mammal begins calling to other whales and seems to be panicked when it appears it may drown.  The fishermen grabbed their oars and put them under the whale's pectoral fins to pry it into deeper water -- "no easy task," they said.

The whale didn't struggle with the fishermen and once it was freed, it swam across the bay and met up with the two members of the pod.
