Sounders fall to Timbers 2-1 in game one

SEATTLE — The Seattle Sounders took on the Portland Timbers Saturday night at CenturyLink and lost 2-1.

This was game one in the Western Conference Semifinals.

Sounders FC and the Portland Timbers have met in the playoffs three times before in the histories of the two clubs.

Ryan Johnson and Darlington Nagbe scored for the Timbers for a 2-0 lead.

In the 90th minute of the game, Osvaldo Alonso scored for the Sounders closing the lead to 1.

Game two of this match up is Thursday night at JELD-WEN Field in Portland, Ore.
