Police: 11-year-old who brought gun to school says 'voice' told him to shoot classmate

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- An 11-year-old Vancouver boy accused of bring a small arsenal to his middle school told police a voice in his head told him to shoot a classmate for allegedly bullying other students, court documents show.

According to police, the suspect's mother called the school to report that she believed her son brought knives to school. The school's principal called the boy into his office and held him there until cops arrived. Police patted down the boy and discovered a handgun in his front pocket and two loaded .22-caliber magazines.

The boy, who Q13 FOX News is not naming, allegedly told police he had a "voice in his head" telling him to shoot a classmate for bullying other students.  He allegedly planned to only shoot the boy in the arm, he told police.

The boy was arrested and held on investigation of attempted murder. Charges have not yet been filed.
