SEATTLE -- The Pierce County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in locating a missing 85-year-old Tacoma man.

John Kerr, who suffers from Alzheimers and dementia, was last seen the morning of Oct. 18. Kerr's daughter discovered that her father and her care were missing that morning from their home on 86th Street Court East in Tacoma. The missing car is a dark purple Hyundai Elantra with Washington plate 687-ZOU; the car also has dark, tinted windows.

The last time she had seen her father was shortly before midnight Oct. 17. She also said her father had not driven in more than three years and wears a hearing aid and glasses, both of which were left at the home.

Kerr does not have a cell phone or credit cards and is believed to have less than $20 on his person.

Kerr is described as a white male, 5-feet, 11-inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. He has shaved hair, hazel eyes and a gray mustache.

Anyone with information regarding Kerr's whereabouts is asked to contact police.
