Aviation High students fly into new school

Raisbeck Aviation High School students arrived in style to the grand opening of the new school- aboard an Alaska Airlines jet.

SEATTLE- Raisbeck Aviation High School celebrated the grand opening of its new campus on The Museum of Flight grounds this morning.

The $43.5 million school is one-of-a-kind in Washington state, matching STEM – science, technology, engineering and mathematics- education with the aviation industry.

An Alaska Airlines jet transported lottery-selected RAHS high school students and guests from Sea-Tac Airport to The Museum of Flight. They were greeted by classmates, parents, community partners and officials.

The public school is part of the Highline School District, and is partnered with The Museum of Flight. The proximity to the museum and the nearly 200 aviation-related surrounding businesses, offer students the opportunity to be inspired and informed by the region’s aerospace leaders.
