SEATTLE — “Breaking Bad” broke a viewership record when it recently ended its five-year run, and the ending had people talking for days. Still, the cast probably never expected to receive a fan letter from a living legend.

BREAKING BADAccording to the New York Daily News, Sir Anthony Hopkins wrote a letter to “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston, after having spent two weeks binge-watching the show.

In the letter, Hopkins praised Cranston’s performance as Walter White, calling it the best acting the Oscar winner had ever seen.

Hopkins continued by saying that “Breaking Bad was a stunning feat by not only the actors, but the entire crew. As The New York Daily News reported, Hopkins compared the AMC series to a great Shakespearean or Greek Tragedy.

Hopkins asked Cranston to pass his compliments onto the rest of the cast, saying they gave, “master classes of performance.”

“Thank you. That kind of work/artistry is rare, and when, once in a while, it occurs, as in this epic work, it restores confidence,” Hopkins wrote. “You and all the cast are the best actors I’ve ever seen.”

Imagine that! A fan letter from Sir Anthony Hopkins!
