U.S. National Team calls on two Sounders FC players

RENTON, Wash. -- Two stars with the Seattle Sounders FC will head to the U.S. Men's National Team's (USMNT) 2014  World Cup Qualifier matches against Jamaica and Panama.

Midfielder Brad Evans and Forward Eddie Johnson will join the USMNT team following Saturday's match in Colorado and will miss the Sounder's matches against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Oct. 9 and the Portland Timbers on Oct. 13.  They will be on the field when the USMNT hosts Jamaica on Oct. 11 at Sporting Park in Kansas City Kan and on Oct. 15 with the men's team heads down to Panama City to face the Panama National Team.

Johnson leads all USMNT players with five goals and one assist this year.

The USMNT is in first place in the final round of qualifying play. The top three teams in each bracket will automatically advance to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
