Police search for missing Auburn mushroom hunter near Packwood

PACKWOOD, Wash. -- The search continues for a 68-year-old mushroom hunter from Auburn who's been missing for nearly a week in Lewis County.

Saykham Tiansevilay left home in Auburn last Saturday to pick mushrooms in the Packwood area, according to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies have now expanded the search area, after learning the missing man may have walked out of the initial search area onto a road, or may have been picked up by someone.  They think he may have stayed overnight in his car Saturday night instead of coming home, because the battery in the vehicle was dead.  They think he left the car Sunday morning and walked toward Ashford or Packwood.

He does not have any medical conditions and is an experienced mushroom hunter.   If you've seen him, please call the Lewis County Sheriff's Office at (460) 748-9286.
