13 sheep killed in car crash by Washington driver

MEACHAM, Ore. (KPTV) -- A Washington state driver collided with a herd of sheep on Interstate 84 near the town of Meacham, Ore., and his car burst into flames, killing 13 of the animals, Oregon State Police said Tuesday. The driver was not injured.

Oregon State Police said it happened at 8 p.m. Monday.

Robert Anderson, 51, of West Richland, Wash., was driving his 1998 Toyota Camry westbound when the car collided with a herd of sheep in the middle of the road. The car came to rest on the side of the freeway and caught fire. Troopers said the car was destroyed.
