One dead in Snohomish County crash

SNOHOMISH COUNTY -- A 28-year-old woman died in a single car accident early Monday morning near Arlington, the Washington State Patrol said.

The woman was traveling northbound on Interstate 5 around 3 a.m. Monday morning when she exited the interstate at Mile Post 206. Officials said she took the exict with her 1997 Acrua 35RL too fast and drifted off the roadway. Her car struck a sign and careened into the median.

Troopers said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Speed and consumption of alcohol contributed to the crash, officials said.

Her identification has not yet been released.

The WSP is investigating the incident.
