Woman arrested after hitting three police cars

PUYALLUP - Police will tell you that responding to domestic violence situations are the most dangerous and unpredictable calls they deal with.

Just after 9am Saturday, Puyallup police responded to a report of an 18-year-old woman assaulting her mother at a home in the 2800 block of 6th Street SE.

The mother told police that her daughter was "under the influence" of narcotics and had left just before police arrived.

A few minutes later, police spotted the woman's car and attempted to stop it. Instead, the woman ignored police, hitting a parked car, before slamming into a patrol car head-in the parking lot of a YMCA.

The impact of the collision deployed the patrol car's air bags.

The woman was able to drive off and collided with another patrol car in the 4700 block of South Meridian.

The chase came to an end when the woman hit a large sign in the parking lot of the Les Schwab Tire store, disabling her car.

Witness say officers broke out her windows in order to get her out of the vehicle. Once outside the car, it took several officers to pin her to the ground.

Three Puyallup police patrol cars were damaged but none of the officers were seriously hurt.

The woman was booked into jail on assault and domestic violence charges.
