Summer storms on the way

We have an area of low pressure pushing north out of Oregon that is wrapped in instability. This will bring increasing clouds to the forecast tonight and scattered storms tomorrow afternoon. Highs will drop into the lower 70s.

Some of the rain will be heavy at times as models are suggesting .25” of rain on average, but some places could collect closer to 1” of rainfall. Breezy conditions are also expected (15-25mph) and lightning will be a possibility. These scattered showers and storms will kick into gear during the early afternoon and continue through tomorrow night.

By Monday, most of the “rough stuff” should be gone with just scattered showers and cooler temperatures left behind. Expect highs in the low to mid-60s for the final week of summer.
