Record heat continues

Record warmth continues tonight and Thursday and today was the second hottest day of the year and only the second day above 90 this year. (The hottest day of the year was June 30 at 93 degrees).

Friday and Saturday will be warm, but there will be some morning clouds with highs around 80. Sunday, the seasonal rains kick in and there could be some isolated thunderstorms Sunday afternoon, but after that normal Seattle rain will be the rule.

Next week looks damp and cool. The extended forecast shows all signs pointing toward a neutral winter since the ocean temperature hasn't changed since spring 2012. That would imply that our winter will be similar to last year's and my feeling is that we will still have a colder than normal winter, but it should not be wetter than normal. Updates to follow.
