SULTAN — Police say a dirt-bike rider may have intentionally revved his engine to spook a rider’s horse, causing the horse to rear and sending the woman to the hospital, the Everett Herald reported.
According to the Herald, a woman and her friend were riding horses Saturday in the 35000 block of Mann Road when two men on dirt-bikes approached them. An argument ensued and one of the dirt bikers revved his engine, spooking the horse and causing it to run off. The dirt-bike rider allegedly followed the woman and her spooked horse and again gunned his motor. The horse bucked the woman off, and she was knocked unconscious.
Both dirt-bike riders took off, the Herald reported.
The woman was taken to an area hospital after her fall. She was still hospitalized Tuesday, the Herald reported.
Police are looking to question the two motorcyclists, but said the men were wearing helmets and their bikes didn’t have license plates, so it could be difficult to find them. The bikers could face charges of reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor.
