Puyallup junior high still closed due to flooding

PUYALLUP - A three-day weekend is turning into a four-day weekend for kids at Ferrucci Junior High School in Puyallup.

The Puyallup School District announced Sunday that the school will remain closed Monday while crews continue to clean up after rain water flooded several classrooms on Friday.

Twelve classrooms received some sort of flooding due to the rain, and district officials decided to close the school Friday morning.

Crews spent the weekend cleaning up, but needed one more day to complete the repair work necessary for student and staff safety.

District officials expect the school to reopen to students Tuesday morning.
