Congressman McDermott told constituents that the impeding vote on whether to take military action against Syria is something he takes very seriously,
“Sending people to war to die or to kill other people is probably the most difficult… it is the most difficult thing I do,” said McDermott.
The congressman heard from constituents who voiced both support and concern of a military strike against Syria’s government.
On Tuesday, President Obama is scheduled to deliver a speech from the Oval Office on possible military action in Syria.
Congressman McDermott said he hopes the President will clearly state his case for a strike against Syria and allow Congress to decide what action, if any to take.
