From Washington to royalty

SEATTLE – It’s official, a Seattle woman has become a princess.

Kendra Spears married Prince Rahim Aga Khan over the weekend. The two were married in a traditional Muslim ceremony in Geneva on Saturday.

According to the Huffington Post, the 25-year-old UW graduate and model was touted as ‘the next Cindy Crawford’ when she launched her career in 2008. The Daily Mail says Naomi Campbell introduced the couple.

Prince Rahim is the eldest son of His Highness Aga Khan IV. His Highness is worth an estimated $800 million. The Daily Mail reports he is the 49th hereditary Imam of Ismaili Shi’as and is regarded as a descendant of the prophet Mohamed.

Now known as Princess Salwa Aga Khan, she converted to Islam before the private ceremony.
