September's outlook

It’s the final day of August and we are ending it on a sunny, summer like note! This month has been about 3 degrees above average during the day and broke records for the warm, overnight lows (see yesterday’s update). Now we set our sights on the month of September.

The climate prediction center has next month continuing in the “warmer than average” category. Although Western Washington remains in a neutral weather pattern, we are seeing some great weather this summer season. Tomorrow will see highs near 81 degrees under sunny skies, but changes will sweep in for Labor Day. I’m calling for increasing clouds in the afternoon with a few showers around. It will not be a washout and will have lots of dry time. Highs will be near 76.

If you enjoy looking back on Labor Days of the past, the National Weather Service in Seattle compiled a nice list for you. Enjoy!
