91-year-old man leads police on high-speed chase

THE DALLES, Ore. -- As officials continued to investigate a deadly officer involved shooting near The Dalles, they say a 91-year-old Washington man nearly drove through the scene and led them on a high-speed chase.

This happened at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, just four hours after a deadly shooting blocked traffic in both directions on Interstate 84.

Troopers say they first spotted Marseill Gunnyon driving in a closed section of the road and told him to turn around and take the next exit.

They say Gunnyon did turn around but didn't take the exit. Instead, they say he sped into blocked traffic headed the other direction.

Troopers say at one point Gunnyon was going 80 miles per hour, and they had to use spike strips to stop him.

Gunnyon was arrested and is facing felony attempt to elude in a vehicle, reckless driving, and misdemeanor hit and run.
