Firefighters manage to save Maple Valley home

MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. -- A fire in an attached garage spread to a Maple Valley home before firefighters were able to put it out Monday night.

The fire started in an attached garage of a single-valley home around 10:20 p.m. in the 20700 block of SE 287 Street. The fire quickly spread to the main house, but firefighters were able to limit the blaze's damage to the exterior of the home. The garage was a near total loss.

No one was hurt in the blaze and two residents managed to escape thanks to a neighbor's warning, Maple Valley Fire and Light said.

A King County fire investigator is investigating the cause of the blaze.
