Two teens visited by Secret Service following prank call
CENTRALIA -- Two teenage boys received an unexpected and most likely unwanted visit from the United States Secret Service following a prank call the kids allegedly made threatening President Obama.
According to the crime blog Lewiscountysirens.com, Secret Service agents visited a 13-year-old and 14-year-old boy Thursday to investigate calls threatening the president made from the Napavine area of Lewis County three weeks ago. The phone call was made to a woman who lives in Washington D.C., and allegedly involved "comments against the president," Lewis County Sirens reported.
Lewis County Sgt. Rob Snarza said the woman who received the phone call contacted her husband, who is in the military. He then went through a military chain of command and got the Secret Service to look at the incident. The phone was then tracked to the 14-year-old who owned the phone.
Secret Service agents visited the boys Thursday and they admitted to making the calls. They were not arrested, and no federal charges would be filed, Snaza said.
"I think they learned their lesson," he said.
The two boys' exact ages were not released.
It is unknown how many threats the federal agency investigates against the president each year.
