Free entrance to national parks Sunday

mount-rainier-np-lMT. RAINIER — The entrance fee to Mt. Rainier National Park, North Cascades National Park, Olympic National Park and all others will be waved Sunday to celebrate the National Park Service’s 97th birthday.

All nature walks and programs will be free. The entrance fee is waived in an effort to encourage people to get outdoors and enjoy landscapes.

The parks will also be free on National Public Lands Day on September 28 and Veteran’s Day holiday weekend on Nov. 9-11.
