Everyone loves avocado... but in beer?

From Angel City Brewery

LOS ANGELES -- Everyone loves eating avocado. But drinking it could be another story.

Los Angeles-based Angel City Brewery announced it is releasing an Avacado Ale, just one of many bizarre beer flavors recently introduced to suds fans.

Angel City will debut the ale at the inaugural Avocado Festival Aug. 24 in Los Angeles, according to Time Magazine. The brew is flavored with avocado, cilantro and other ingredients one generally finds in guacamole. The beer will distributed in Southern California at first, but plans for wider distribution are coming down the tap.

Avocado ale joins other strange beer flavors typically released in the fall.

Oregon-based Rogue Ales sells a bacon and maple syrup ale and a chipotle ale, Odell Brewing crafts a chocolate milk stout and U.K.-based Wells Young's Brewing Company is known for their Banana Bread Beer, flavored with the subtle hint of... you guessed it. Banana.
