SEATTLE -- Dozens of firefighters battled an early morning fire that gutted a building with several businesses including the Downriggers Restaurant, said San Juan Fire & Rescue spokeswoman Carolyn Hudson.

The fire at 10 Front Street was reported around 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

Other businesses in the building include Friday Harbor Marine, Friday Harbor Yachts, San Juan Safaris and San Juan Excursions.

Port Director Marilyn O'Connor said the Port of Friday Harbor is evacuating Spring Street Pier, one of four piers, so that boons can be placed to minimize any potential runoff from attacking the fire.

The first ferry of the morning made two added stops to pick up firefighters from Orcas and Lopez Islands to help fight the fire.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
