Mariners blow lead in 9th, lose to Rays



SEATTLE--

The Seattle Mariners blew a 4-3 lead in the 9th inning as the Tampa Bay Rays rallied to win 5-4 on Wednesday night.

Rookie Brad Miller continued his strong play with a 2-run triple in the 5th inning to put the Mariners up 3-1.  Another rookie, Nick Franklin added an RBI double as the Mariners led by three runs.

However, the Rays' Wil Myers hit a 2-run home run in the 6th to cut the lead to 4-3 before Jason Bourgeois singled in the winning run in the 9th off Mariners closer, Danny Farquhar.

The Mariners will try to win the series tomorrow when Joe Saunders (10-11) takes the mound.
