Watch Parella go ‘Over the Edge’ for Special Olympics

SEATTLE — Parella Lewis of Q13 FOX News roped up and rappelled down a 40-story building in Seattle Friday as part of an “Over the Edge” event to raise money for the Special Olympics.

“I got to tell you, it was a little tough inching over the edge (with) downtown Seattle, Elliott Bay and the waterfront … waaaay below,” Lewis said.

She rappelled down the building with King County Sheriff’s Deputy Chief Anne Kirkpatrick and Rep. Dave Reichert, R-Wash.

Dan Wartelle of the Special Olympics said Friday, “Twenty-five spots remain. You can rappel Saturday or Sunday … so if you’re sitting at home saying I got to do this, check this off my bucket list, this is the spot and this is the time.”

Last year, the event raised nearly $250,000, and it costs about $650 to support one Special Olympics athlete a year.
