Cooler weekend, mountain thunderstorms

SEATTLE -- Today will be pretty much the same as yesterday with nice afternoon sun and warm afternoon highs - low-to-mid 80s.

There could some afternoon thunderstorms in the Cascades.  The weekend will be cooler and cloudier -- only partly sunny, highs in the mid-to-upper 70s (right around normal).

There will be thunderstorms in the Cascades and some of these could move into the lowlands for a little rain or even a lightning strike. It won't be much for Western Washington, though.  Central Washington, however, has a Flash Flood Watch posted for possible storms causing some flooding.  Next week looks great!  Areas of morning clouds with afternoon sunshine and highs in the mid-to-upper 70s.

Best summer EVER!

Beautiful line of virga -- precipitation that evaporates before it hits the cloud. These are ice crystals "raining out" of clouds. They take awhile to evaporate, so they make beautiful trails under the clouds. From Laura in Graham.
