Man faces additional charges for allegedly blowing up dog in front of kids

STEVENSON, Wash. -- A man arrested for allegedly blowing up his dog Sunday morning was charged with possession of a bomb or explosive device and other felonies Tuesday in Skamania County Court.

Christopher Wayne Dillingham faces up to 20 years in prison for allegedly using an explosive device to kill his dog and endangering nearby children in the process, the court said.  He was also charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, carrying up to 364 days in jail each. Dillingham also faces one count of possession of explosives, one count of reckless endangerment/domestic violence and one count of reckless endangerment.

His bail was set at $500,000.

The Skamania County Prosecutor's Office is still reviewing the case to determine whether or not animal cruelty charges could be warranted.

"We are reviewing the animal cruelty statues and case law," Skamania County Prosecutor Adam Kick Said. "And if the law allows, we will file additional charges in relation to the killing of the dog."
