Seahawks cut WR, sign RB

RENTON -- The Seattle Seahawks have released former University of Idaho wide receiver Justin Veltung and signed running back Ray Holley to the roster, the team announced.

The 23-year-old Holley, who is 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds, originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Baltimore Ravens on May 3 out of Louisiana Tech.

After transferring from Orange Coast College prior to the 2010 season, he saw action in 27 games at Louisiana Tech, recording 227 rushing attempts for 1,090 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Bulldogs, earning second-team All-WAC honors.

Holley lives in Orange, Calif.

Veltung signed with Seattle on May 23.
