Hiker falls 12 feet, dies on Snohomish County trail
GRANITE FALLS -- A hiker who fell about 12 feet while on the Robe Valley Trail just off of the Mountain Loop Highway has died, the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.
The hiker died at the scene, the sheriff's office said. The man's age and hometown were not immediately released.
Identification of the victim, and the cause of death, will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office, it said.
According to family members with the hiker, the man fell about 12 feet and was found unconscious.
