Oh baby -- woman gives birth while stuck in traffic

SEATTLE -- A woman who was on her way to Swedish Hospital to deliver her baby didn't quite make it, and instead gave birth to her son in the front seat of her car in the First Hill area near East Yesler Way and Boren Avenue.

The Seattle Times reported that the woman's husband was driving her to the hospital. About 8:16 a.m. Tuesday, they got caught up in commuter traffic and the husband pulled over and called 911 for assistance.

The Seattle Fire Department said an off-duty nurse who happened to be in the area and helped to deliver the baby.

Mother and son are reported to be doing well.
