After the acquittal: Outrage from Orlando to Seattle

SEATTLE — Just how much George Zimmerman’s murder trial polarized America was on full display once the verdict was read.

Across the country Sunday and early Monday, outraged protesters poured on to streets while supporters kept largely quiet. Protesters denounced the six-woman jury’s decision Saturday to find Zimmerman not guilty in the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

While the vast majority of protests were peaceful, parts of Los Angeles grew tense.

Some protesters hurled flashlight batteries, rocks and chunks of concrete toward police in Los Angeles, police spokesman Andrew Smith said. Police responded by shooting bean bags at protesters.

“LAPD is hoping for the best and preparing for the worst,” Smith said Sunday night. “We hope everyone can exercise their First Amendment right to free speech, then get tired and go home.”

Some demonstrators continued their efforts into Monday morning. At least nine people were arrested, Smith said.

I was not at the trial, certainly not at the scene… but the role of the prosecution is to give evidence in order to convict on the charge presented. Defense is to either refute evidence given and/or give factual evidence to the contrary. The jury must be agree in total. For the Zimmerman trial, the prosecution and defense did their parts and he was found not guilty. People say they want to believe in the system, right up until the system gives them something they don't like. There was a trial and now it is over. The only thing we are teaching our children is "If you don't like what happened, make a big fuss, yell racism, and someone will come in and change it".

If you were not at the trial, you don't know all the facts. The jury did and made a decision. Now the uneducated want to scream and attack innocent people like they did after the Rodney King trial. If you believe this is racism, why not try to improve the way people treat your race (whatever it may be) rather than giving people a reason to look unfavorably upon you.

Zimmerman is not a police officer or even a security guard. He's a punk vigilante cop wannabe who took the law into his own hands, started a fight and killed an unarmed teenager. Whoa! Florida you have problems.

He was a neighborhood watch volunteer who has assaulted by a little thug who thought he could take on anyone. He lost and he is dead. If Zimmerman wanted to kill a black person there were a lot better ways to do it and he probably would have called the police immediately after doing so and right before.

The jury heard the details and as much as they desperately wanted a conviction justice was served.

Fatso Zimmerman's life is over, he's a killer celebrity, like Casey Anthony the killer mom. He'll have to stay in hiding and won't be giving any speeches at the next NRA convention.

The judge gave instructions to the jury as to their choices. The evidence presented by the defense out weighed the prosecutions. And as stated earlier, if you weren't in the court room and you are basing all of your decision based on what the media reported, you don't know diddly. And remember, O.J. was found not guilty too ! I don't recall any rioting over that decision.

Oh look it's the Skip and Bobbi show where they lend nothing to the converstation and instead hurl insults. The real racists are right here in front of your face marching. And Skip and Bobbi how about you argue any of the points Joe makes? He is right. The selective outrage is disgusting!
