Man found lying in street, possible hit & run victim

SEATTLE - Did you see a man hit by a vehicle near Yesler Way and Broadway around 4 a.m. Saturday?  Seattle Police want to know.  A Washington State Patrol trooper was driving on Broadway when he was flagged down by a passing motorist, the Seattle Police reported.  The driver told the trooper that a man was lying in the middle of Yesler Way and appeared to be seriously hurt.

The trooper found the victim rolling in the street in the 800 block of Yesler Way, police said.  The injured man appeared to have been hit by an unknown vehicle, but police said that so far, no witnesses to the accident have come forth.  Seattle Fire Departmen transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.  Police said that the injured man appeared to be in his 40's.  Police request that anyone with information about this accident should contact Seattle Police.
