Man shot in front yard after apparent love-triangle scuffle
Pierce County Sheriff’s Spokesperson Ed Troyer said the shooting happened around 9 a.m. near the intersection of Canyon Road and 92nd East. The shooting was allegedly spurred because of a “love-triangle” involving the 55-year-old homeowner, his significant other and another man.
The homeowner and his girlfriend called police Sunday to report that a man was harassing them. Police drove to the home Sunday night but the man allegedly disappeared.
According to police, the homeowner again noticed the man’s car parked up the street Monday morning and the he allegedly grabbed his gun to confront him.
The victim was allegedly the girlfriend’s husband, and he intended to confront the the homeowner about having an affair with his wife, Troyer said. The two got into a scuffle and the homeowner allegedly shot the man more than once.
The victim was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Troyer said details of the investigation were not immediately available, and police were trying to piece together exactly what happened.
