Weekend warming after some morning clouds

SEATTLE -- Gradual clearing already underway around Western Washington. Things look positively pleasant this afternoon. Our nice stretch of weather around the region continues. Highs today around the Puget Sound near the normal of 74 degrees.

We joke that July 5th is considered our unofficial start of summer here in the NW-- but this year it's come early with already one day above 90 degrees and many above 80. A typical Seattle summer has 3 days at or above 90 degrees.

The weekend we're going to warm things up with some brief morning clouds on Saturday and more sunshine for Sunday. Both days have high temps around Seattle around 80 degrees. Even warmer still for the beginning of next week. We'll see our mini-heat wave top out on Tuesday with highs in the mid 80s. A marine push returns our temps to the comfortable 70s as we get into the middle of next week.

The only chance of rain comes in the form of a tiny chance of t-storms in the Cascades and Olympics this afternoon-- and a better shot tomorrow afternoon for those areas. Otherwise we stay seasonably dry. Enjoy!
