Plane flips in Monroe, 2 injured

plane flips in monroe 07-05-13SEATTLE — Shortly before 5 p.m. Friday, Monroe police and fire fighters responded to a plane that had flipped at the Firstair Field airport in Monroe.

The Cessna 172 plane departed from Paine Field at 3 p.m. A student pilot was on a training flight and was attempting to land when the plane left the runway and went into some long grass. The student pilot was unable to get the plane back on the runway and it ended up flipping.

The pilot, a 69-year-old male from Seattle, was transported to Valley General Hospital for minor injuries. The instructor, an 82-year-old male from Mountlake Terrace was treated at the scene.

The Monroe Police Department is investigating the accident and the FAA has been notified of the accident.

    thouldnt there be an age limit for pilots, like lets say no one over the age of 70?? seems reasonable right?
