Fantastic 4th and awesome weekend ahead

SEATTLE -- The weather is looking quite perfect for today. While you might scoff at the morning clouds-- it's those clouds that will help keep our afternoon temperature in the absolutely perfectly pleasant mid-70s for this afternoon. Normal high is 74 for this time of year for Seattle-- I'm forecasting 76 for a high this afternoon around the region.

Still looking dry for the next 7-10 days-- and we haven't seen any rain at all since July started at SeaTac. This isn't all that unusual. July is typically a very dry month historically here in Western Washington.

Extreme fire danger for Central Washington and Oregon. A red flag warning is in place through the weekend due to breezy conditions, warm temps and tinder dry conditions. Be careful with fire and fireworks. This includes cigarette butts-- tossing them out of a car window is a big no-no.

Tonight things look great for fireworks celebrations. Mostly clear skies, temps in the mid to low 60s when things get fully dark around 10pm. A light jacket a good idea. Enjoy and make sure to have a happy and safe holiday.
