TACOMA -- Firefighters said two cars found on fire early Wednesday morning in Tacoma were possibly sparked by an arsonist.

A resident in the 6700 block of Tacoma Avenue South called 911 to report two cars on fire in the alley behind their house around 1:20 a.m., the Tacoma Fire Department said.

Firefighters arrived to find one car on fire and the other still smoldering. Emergency workers quickly extinguished the flames.

There were no reported injuries, but the cause of the fires is considered suspicious, officials said.

The Tacoma Police Department is investigating the incident.
