Remains of missing Seattle man found in South Dakota

RAPID CITY, S.D. -- Badly decomposed human remains found in Kelly Gulch, about 26 miles west of Rapid City, were identified Monday as those of a 53-year-old Seattle man missing since June 2012, the Rapid City Journal reported.

The Pennington County Sheriff's Office said no foul play is suspected in the death of Reginald E. Henrickson, who, it said, was originally from Minnesota with last known residences in Alaska and the Philippines, the newspaper said.

The remains were spotted by an ATV driver last Tuesday, the Journal said. An autopsy found no signs of trauma, but could not determine a cause of death. Other evidence found at the scene led investigators to contact Seattle authorities, and dental records led to the identification of the man.

The investigation is ongoing, the Journal said.
