EVERETT -- The Everett School District plans to beef up security with new surveillance cameras in its schools.

According to the Herald, the plan is to have a the network of cameras in place by the fall of 2014, and monitor what goes on from the new administration building.

While the cameras will allow for a quick response in emergencies, they also raise privacy concerns.  The district previously came under fire for a hidden camera in one of its schools.

The cameras will not be in places where people can reasonably expect privacy, such as locker rooms and restrooms.
