Warmest temps of the year

Hot temperatures moved in overnight as parts of Puget Sound soared into the upper 80s today. Tomorrow will be about the same, warming a couple of degrees by Sunday.

Monday will see the benefit of a second area of high pressure. This combined with a thermal trough will act like a “heat pump” forcing air to warm even more. Several locations are expected to hit 90 on Monday (at least) while Tuesday will be the warmest day for the coast.

Things cool down by July 4th, but will still be above normal. I’m currently forecasting sunny with a high of 80 on Thursday.
