Woman killed by train in Ephrata

trainSEATTLE — A 25 year old woman was hit and killed by a train around 9:45 a.m. Saturday in Ephrata, said Grant County Sheriff Office’s spokesman Kyle Foreman.

The woman, Cristina Celeste Hernandez of Ephrata, was struck by an eastbound Burlington Northern-Santa Fe freight train, said Foreman.

Her body was found near the Amtrak station near Division Avenue East and Alder Street.

The woman’s death is being investigated by the Ephrata Police Department, BNSF Railway and the Grant County Coroner.
