Pedestrian hit by car when exiting Metro bus
SEATTLE -- At 10:39 a.m. Wednesday, a man exited a Metro bus and stepped into the southbound lanes of 35th Avenue NE and NE 75th Street in the Wedgewood neighborhood, Seattle police said. As he stepped into the roadway, he was struck by a car and sustained life-threatening injuries.
Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are investigating the collision that occurred earlier this morning at 35th Avenue NE and NE 75th Street.
Seattle Fire Department medics treated the man at the scene and transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer responded to the scene to evaluate the driver of the car, but there were no obvious signs of impairment on the part of the driver.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
