Northwest baseball talent drafted by MLB teams

The dream of playing in the major leagues has become a step closer to reality for four top Washington state prospects.



Kentwood senior catcher Reese McGuire was selected as the 14th overall pick in the of the Major League Baseball First-Year Draft and was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Gonzaga junior left-hander Marco Gonzales was taken 19th overall by the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Los Angeles Angels selected Federal Way High School grad and current Pierce College pitcher Elliot Morris in the fourth round.  It's the first time Pierce College has had a player drafted.

Camas High School grad Taylor Williams was picked by the Milwaukee Brewers in the fourth round after pitching at Kent State.
