Funeral mass set for drive-by shooting victim; fundraising sites listed

SEATTLE -- A funeral mass has been set for Molly Conley, the 15-yer-old victim of a drive-by shooting that occurred June 1 in Lake Stevens, the Seattle Times reported.

The mass is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Bishop Blanchet High School at 8200 Wallingford Ave. N., and will be held in the school's gym. The Times said that attendees are encouraged to carpool to the mass.

Conley was celebrating her 15th birthday when she was shot about 11:15 p.m. Saturday while walking with friends in Lake Stevens. The shooting appears to be a random act of violence and detectives are working on locating the suspects, but so far have few leads in the case.

Conley was a 4.0 student and an active member of Seattle's Bishop Blanchet High School — she played lacrosse and performed in drama.

American Legion Post 181 in Lake Stevens is raising money for a Crime Stoppers reward leading to the capture of the killer and charges in Molly’s murder. It has raised $1,000 so far. The coordinator is Tony Morea 360-631-3242.

Meanwhile, the Conley family suggests that, as an expression of sympathy and support and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may made in memory of Molly to:
